Demo Video: Using Beaver Builder with the Genesis WordPress Theme

A lot of our customers want to know whether Beaver Builder works as a page builder with the Genesis WordPress theme. In this video, I demonstrate how you can use both tools together.

It would be totally gnaw-some if you could share this post with your friends.

    Thanks for demo Jason.

I’ve been a Genesis user for some time now, but have only just discovered Beaver Builder. Like you, I’ve really become fascinated with the amazing design capabilities I now have available to me.

Beaver Builder has really opened the door for me to be able to create beautiful websites in a very short period of time. What used to take a whole day, now only takes me a couple of hours.

Congratulations and thanks for creating such an awesome plugin!

How do you remove the Genesis page title and does doing that have any effect on SEO

    ozzie

    • Robby McCullough on December 20, 2014 at 1:29 pm

Hey Ozzie! Sorry for the super delayed response. You’ll probably need to Google around to find those answers because, frankly, I am not sure 😉

    • Leo Merkel on January 4, 2015 at 9:37 pm

Hi Ozzie, we’re using Dynamik Website Builder and there’s a function to Remote the title on all pages or single pages. Genesis, Dynamik and Beaver Builder work exzellent together.

      Regards, Leo

I install the Genesis Title Toggle plugin on all my Genesis websites.

Great video – thanks. We’re using Beaver Builder with the Genesis Framework and Dynamik Website Builder from CobaltApps. This is really what I call a dream team.

How does Beaver Builder work on editing the homepage?
I see in the demo that you appear to be editing the homepage but on my Genesis homepage, the BB icon is not present in the WordPress toolbar.

    • Robby McCullough on February 23, 2015 at 3:39 pm

Hi Josh. Depending on the Genesis Child Theme/Setup you’re using, you may need to create a new page as your homepage. Then, set that page as the static front page in your reading settings in the WordPress admin panel (General->Reading). If you need some more assistance with this, feel free to open a thread in our support forum. Thanks for the comment 🙂

I’m considering getting Beaver Builder, but honestly, after watching your video, it looks a little buggy.
It replaced and resized two images, and after you added the new template at the bottom, an image disappeared at the top. Still, it looks like an amazing tool for quickly creating a page.
If I understand correctly, Beaver Builder does not do headers and footers?

    • Justin Busa on June 1, 2015 at 9:30 am

      Hi Rob,

Thanks for the feedback. The builder has gone through quite a few changes since this video was released, so chances are any issues you noticed have been resolved. If you haven’t already, feel free to take it for a spin at http://demo.wpbeaverbuilder.com or by downloading the lite version at wordpress.org. You are correct that Beaver Builder doesn’t do headers and footers.

      Justin

We’ve created a free WordPress plugin to help Genesis users with Beaver Builder integration. You can find it at the Genesis Dambuster website.

      Awesome, Liz! Thanks for sharing!

What is the advantage of using genesis vs the beaver builder theme? I guess I don’t understand why you would use genesis with this plugin. Especially when is come with pre-built pages.

    • Robby McCullough on November 3, 2015 at 11:33 am

One of the big advantages to using any framework theme comes after you’ve spent some time getting familiar with it. The more familiar you are with a code base, the faster you’ll be able to work with it. We always tell folks, if you’re already comfortable/happy with Genesis, it’s a great theme and there’s really no reason to switch.

  10. Mike on March 11, 2016 at 2:38 pm

But what does Genesis offer that the other doesn’t for the typical BB user, i.e. a non-code person

    • Robby McCullough on March 11, 2016 at 2:57 pm

Hey Mike! Thanks for the comment. Genesis and other framework themes offer consistency. Once you’re familiar with Genesis, it’s very powerful and you’ll never have to learn another framework (unless you want to).

While it’s been awhile since I built a theme with Genesis, from what I remember, it is very developer centric. I.e., if you’re not a code person, it might not be the best choice. In all honesty, the Beaver Builder theme might be a good choice. We leverage the WordPress customizer so you can customize the theme in a WYSIWYG environment.

Is it necessary to load a child theme on the default theme framework? Or can i just use Page Builder on the Genesis framework? Thank you.

    • Robby McCullough on May 30, 2016 at 10:42 am

Hi Mary. You don’t need to use the child theme if you’re not planning to customize any of the CSS or PHP code. In that case, using the Page Builder and the Parent theme is no problem. 🙂

    Hi;
i have hard time to follow the above video due to following reasons
1, i have installed and activated genesis framewor. I do not have the above screen, the one with mobile
    2. i don’t have the template, i got the pro beaver builder
    thank you

  13. Sunny on October 22, 2016 at 4:21 pm

Beaver builder does not work to make or modify a front page when using a Genesis child theme. This is frustrating. If it can’t do this, then it does NOT work with Genesis.

So let me clarify. I’m sure it probably does work. But the instructions seem to be completely missing, anywhere on the web, on how to do this. All searching leads to how to use it on pages. I need the HOME FRONT PAGE to work.

People land on my front page, not some page in the middle somewhere. How to do this should not be so hard to find.

I get so frustrated with things that don’t work and information that should be easily available that is not available.

    • Daniel McClure on April 26, 2017 at 8:58 am

If you want the Beaver Builder template to take up the full page rather than sit inside the “page section” of the standard Genesis theme then you need to create a custom page template. This is a relatively small job for a developer however the actual code can vary depending on the specific Genesis Child Theme you are working with. I haven’t tested any of the Genesis Beaver starter themes yet but I presume they are going to be the easiest way to get started if you are not comfortable working with code.

Here’s a great video on how to customize the page display in genesis to full width and toggle the title:
